Biography – Harley Wallen

In 1977 Harley Micael Wallen started Judo training at the tender age of 7 in Malmö, Sweden. He reached a level of international competition by age 11 and at 12 and won his first large tournament (Fredriksverks Championships) where he competed in 8 hard fought matches to win the Gold. After that big win he continued and for the next 7 years Harley had an incredible record of 246 wins and 23 losses.

Harley was committed to ever expanding his martial arts knowledge and soon became skilled in Karate, Kickboxing, Jiu Jitsu NHB, and Tae Kwon Do.  He competed across Europe in TKD and NHB, (no holds barred) matches and became well known and successful as a fighter while in his late teens and early twenties.

In 1994 he began training and coaching under the auspices of legendary Mark Tripp. When he stepped back onto the  mat for his final competition at the Flag City Championships in 2008, he won two Gold Medals in Black Belt Senior and Master level. This feat was accomplished incredibly without having one single point scored on him by anyone!

Harley’s vast martial arts experience afforded him the ability to begin coaching MMA while in the U.S.A. Harley’s team developed  many winners and Harley himself competed in Professional MMA in addition to his coaching capacity!

Harley’s final exciting Professional MMA fight was on March 6, 2010 and in this televised event he submitted his final opponent in only 52 seconds and was awarded submission of the night!

Harley isn’t only a part of the martial arts community in the cage, ring and on the mats but this well rounded and educated martial artist has been hosting TV shows for XCC, KOTC, TXC and can still be found today as the Host and Live Fight commentator for WXC on TV and UFC Fightpass.

The other capacity in which Harley has been using his martial arts background is in the movies.

He has been Stunt and Fight coordinator in many feature and short films.

Additionally, Harley has produced two excellent feature films, but this is a cliff hanger! We’ll talk about this huge accomplishment in our next feature article on Harley Michael Wallen… Stay tuned for the action and mean time, just click on these two links and enjoy!
